I’ll be going to NIU this weekend to return McCarthy’s Blood Meridian and hide in the stacks for a few hours. While I could probably do most of my research from my house, I find it almost impossible to do real work at home. Distractions, internal and external, are everywhere. Also, there is still the draw of being amongst the books and other students. I do miss it, a bit.
I’ve been in school for a long time, with the biggest gap being 2 years after I finished my BA at ISU. I’ve taken semesters off, am now to work on this thesis, but I do not know what I’ll do when I’m done this time. Another degree? I don’t know.
